The Southern Portuguese coast of the Algarve is sunning in all it’s beauty with easy to walk to beaches, rock formations and caves but venture to the west and you’ll see rough and rocky landscape & impressively high cliffs topped with blissful sunsets.
There is no set route for this day out as our options are endless.
Arrifana, Aljezur is one of our favorite spots to park up! The town itself is full of cobbled streets and typical, whitewashed houses and on top of the 88 metre tall hill you can find a castle, known as Castle de Aljezur. These days the beaches around Aljezur are a surfers paradise in the summer with waves most days and plenty of places to rent a board for any keen surfers wanting to catch a wave.
Sagres is also on our list for the west which is as far south west as you can be in Europe, sometimes we'll catch a sunset at the Lighthouse of Cabo de São Vicente on top of the cliff accompanied by a tasty hot dog if that tickles ya fancy!
This is the European version of the End of the World!
* For the adventure seekers there is plenty of cliff jumping on the west at your own risk. *
