Rajasthani Delights - Ladies Holi Festival Tour
Delhi 1st March - 13th March 2018
Day 1 - Meet at our hotel at 9am and board our mini van bound for Agra, the home of the Taj Mahal and our primary school, Taj Ganj Welcome School.
Day 2 & 3 - Agra –Today we are up with the sparrows, an early start at the Taj Mahal. We head to the Taj at 6.30am. The best time of the day to go to beat the crowds and see the sun rise over the Yamuna River. After a few hours strolling around the grounds of the Taj Mahal we have back to the hotel for a traditional Indian breakfast. Around 10am we take rickshaws to our Taj Ganj Welcome School. This is the small school that Nevermind Adventure sponsors for underprivileged children. We are welcomed by Salim and the children and head up to the rooftop for chai made by Nevermind Adventures very own Indian family
Day 4 - Jaipur – We are up early to head to Jaipur the famous pink city and majestic capital of Rajasthan. On our way to our hotel we stop at the magnificent Amber Palace for a few hours to soak in some of the history of Rajasthan. Jaipur is famous for its handicrafts.
Day 5 - Pushkar – March Today we head for the Hindi pilgrim town of Pushkar. Pushkar is full of cobbled alleyways, ancient temples and bohemian cafes. Firstly we head to the holy Ghats of Pushkar Lake where you can get a blessing from a Hindu Brahmin and take in the views of the beautiful Pushkar Lake. Then the rest of the day is yours to walk around, shop and discover this fantastic small town. There are always great photography opportunities in Pushkar
Day 6 & 7 - Jodhpur – Today we head for the famous blue city of Jodhpur. After we get to our hotel we head out to take in the town city for a walk around this great city. In the morning we head out to visit the Umaid Bhawan Palace museum and the Mehrangarh fort and museum. Free time in the afternoon.
Day 8 & 9 - Jaisalmer – Fort and shopping and camel riding in the Thar Desert.
Time to explore Jaisalmer fort and town, with us or at your own pace. Dinner inside the ancient and romantic Jaisalmer fort overlooking the vast Thar Desert and surrounds.
Day 10 - Bhenswara – Today we head for the small village of Bhenswara where we stay in 240 year old castle. After we check in and walk around the beautiful grounds we take in a village safari via jeep. The rest of the evening is sat around enjoying the serenity of this beautiful heritage hotel.
Day 11, 12 & 13 - Udaipur – (3 nights)- Today we head for the Venice of India, Udaipur, the most romantic and stunning city in India. Take an Aurvedic massage by the hotel pool after hard day on the road. Then head out into the marketplace for an evening stroll and watch the sunset over the stunning lake palace over lake Piccola. Traditional Rajasthani feast overlooking the fairy tale city lights.
Today is the day we have all been waiting for, the most exciting and colourful day on the Hindu festival calendar, one of the world’s biggest parties and colourful festivals. After our festive celebrations take a stroll around the city palace and discover the wonderful arts and crafts of Udaipur
